COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) was sworn into the Ohio Senate yesterday. Senator Cutrona will serve the people of Ohio's 33rd Senate District after his predecessor Michael Rulli was elected to serve Ohio's 6th Congressional District.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve in the Upper Chamber for the constituents of the 33rd Senate District," said Cutrona. "I look forward to working alongside my new colleagues and continuing my work to protect the values of the Valley, Eastern Ohio, and the entire state."

Cutrona was born and raised in Mahoning County. He attended Youngstown State University and went on to graduate from Case Western University School of Law. Cutrona is a practicing attorney with a focus in healthcare and business.

He served four years in the Ohio House before joining the Ohio Senate.

Cutrona will serve for the remainder of this year and then run for the remainder of former Senator Rulli's term in November 2024.

The 33rd Senate District covers all of Columbiana, Carroll, and Mahoning counties.
