Senate Passes Highway Memorial Bill
COLUMBUS—The Ohio Senate passed House Bill 81, which honors fallen military members, first responders, and elected officials. Included in this legislation are two road-naming bills championed by State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield).
"It is important that we are committed to honoring and remembering those who put their lives on the line for the safety and protection of other Ohioans and the American people," said Cutrona. "Naming these highways will raise awareness for those traveling through Mahoning County and be a permanent tribute to Officer D'Apolito and Lt. Col. Melnick."
These designations will include:The Dispatcher TJ D'Apolito Memorial Highway on State Route 46 between the intersection of that route and Youngstown Drive and the intersection of that route and State Route 446 in Mahoning County
The Army Lt. Col. Robert R. Melnick Memorial Highway on the northbound lanes of State Route 11 between Interstate Route 76 and United States Route 62 in Mahoning County
