Senator Cutrona Co-Sponsors Bill Expanding Access to Healthcare for Ohio Farmers
COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) cosponsored a bill expanding access to health insurance for Ohio farmers.
Senate Bill 100 would expand health insurance options to farmers who are members of the Ohio Farm Bureau.
"Farmers are the backbone of America, and of course the backbone of Ohio," said Senator Cutrona. "Here at home agriculture is a huge part of the 33rd Senate District, and it's important to remember that farmers are independent businessmen and women."
Senate Bill 100 would create a health insurance program through the Ohio Farm Bureau that would be exempt from the regulatory oversight of the Federal Affordable Care Act passed under the Obama Administration.
"This would set-up an important program, because not everyone qualifies for or wants to enroll in the ACA," said Senator Cutrona.
