Senator Cutrona Delivers Floor Speech Endorsing Confirmation Vote of Jim Tressel as Lt. Governor
COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) delivered a heartfelt speech from the floor of the Ohio Senate about the remarkable contributions former Youngstown State University President Jim Tressel made to the Mahoning Valley leading up to the Senate's vote confirming Tressel as Ohio's next Lt. Governor.
"Jim Tressel has won the respect of the valley," said Cutrona. "I've seen my alma mater change before my eyes under his leadership as President of Youngstown State University, Jim Tressel brings out the best in every person that he meets."

Governor Mike DeWine made the announcement on Monday that he was nominating Jim Tressel to be the next Lt. Governor.
The seat was left vacant following the nomination of former Lt. Governor Jon Husted as Ohio's new United States Senator.
The Ohio Constitution requires both chambers of the General Assembly to vote to confirm the Governor's nominee for Lt. Governor.
The Senate and the House confirmed Tressel during their voting sessions on Wednesday.
