State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) and his colleagues in the Ohio Senate approved the suspension of Ohio's gas tax for 90 days.

The Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) currently applies 38.5 cent tax per gallon of gas and a 47 cent tax per gallon of diesel. Suspending the MFT for 90 days will save Ohioan's $725 million at the fuel pump.

Ohioans are feeling the pinch every time they pull up to the gas pump, said Senator Cutrona. For working families, those extra dollars add up quickly. That's why I support giving Ohioans a 90-day break from the state gas tax. It's a straightforward way to put money back in the pockets of everyday Ohioans and let families keep more of whay they work so hard to earn.

In addition, because of our conservative fiscal leadership, we have the funding to support the loss in revenue without reducing funding for our roads, bridges and infrastructure, continued Senator Cutrona.
