Ingram Celebrates 150 Years of the Cincinnati Zoo
This week, state Senator Catherine D. Ingram (D-Cincinnati) celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, the second-oldest zoo in the United States.
“The Cincinnati Zoo is foundational and fundamental to the rich history of not only Ohio, but the country,” said Ingram. “For many Cincinnati residents, the Zoo remains a source of pride, joy, and connection to the natural world. It is a beloved part of our community, giving families a fun place to visit, learn about animals, and spend time together. It also helps protect wildlife, teaches people about nature, and supports the local economy by bringing in visitors and creating jobs.”

Thanks to the dedication of staff and volunteers, residents can experience the Zoo’s rich animal environments. Senator Ingram congratulates them for their hard work and urges residents to visit the Zoo for its year-long celebration.
