Cirino Announces Release of $1.4 Million for Lakeland Community College Engineering Building
COLUMBUS-State Senator Jerry Cirino (R-Kirtland) announced the Ohio Controlling Board released $1,399,170 for Lakeland Community College's Engineering Building renovations. The funds come from the $4,000,000 Cirino secured for the project in House Bill 687, last General Assembly's capital budget bill.
"Lakeland Community College provides a solid foundation for students while looking ahead to what the workforce needs now and in the future," Cirino said. "The college's ongoing renovations to the Engineering Building will give the next generation a critical edge in their training so they can begin successful careers. I'm proud to support this mission and look forward to seeing the results for Lakeland graduates and area employers."
Renovations of the building focus on industrial labs and classrooms, including the Industrial Skills Training Center for Advanced Manufacturing, so the college can enhance and implement new programming for students studying advanced manufacturing and applied engineering. The dollars released by the Controlling Board today will provide for the building's network connectivity, audio visual equipment, and furnishings of the space.
