Cirino Bill Honoring Vietnam Soldier Passes Senate

COLUMBUS - The Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 148, sponsored by Senator Jerry C. Cirino (R-Kirtland), which names a portion of State Route 2 in Lake County the "Specialist Lloyd Andrew Sellers Memorial Highway."
"Specialist Sellers gave the last full measure of devotion to his nation in Vietnam," said Cirino. "He is memorialized alongside his fellow fallen service members as one of the 58,318 names on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall for the world to see. It is just as important to honor Specialist Sellers locally where he is still dearly missed by his family, friends, and community."
Specialist Lloyd Sellers was a native of Euclid, Ohio, enlisted into the Army at 21 years of age, and began his tour on January 28th, 1967. He held the rank of Specialist Four and was attached to the 9th Infantry Division, 4th Battalion, 47th Infantry, and A Company. Sellers was killed during hostile action on June 19th, 1967 in South Vietnam and was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery.
