Cirino Shares Information on Winter Weather and Emergency Declaration
COLUMBUS - State Senator Jerry C. Cirino (R-Kirtland) is sharing information to help his constituents stay safe in hazardous winter weather conditions. Governor DeWine declared a state of emergency for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Lake counties to provide more state resources for storm recovery.
"Everyone has felt the effects of this winter storm," Cirino said. "I am thankful the Governor has decided to declare an emergency in our area so more resources will be utilized to keep Ohioans safe."
The emergency declaration requires all state agencies lend their services, supplies, and other resources as needed to assist Northeast Ohio communities.
Since last week, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has been removing snow on state and local roadways with 157 trucks throughout all four counties, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol has dedicated more staff to responding to crashes.
