COLUMBUS - State Senator Rob McColley (R-Napoleon) today announced that the Hyatt Block in Findlay, Ohio has been awarded state funding through the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit program for renovations to the historic structure.
"The historic preservation tax credit has played a significant role for the investment in many historic buildings across Northwest Ohio," said McColley. "I am thrilled to hear Findlay will be the latest beneficiary through investment in the Hyatt Block.”
The Hyatt Block is a three-story building in Findlay's downtown historic district. Except for the first floor, the building has been vacant for more than 10 years. The renovated space will be home to an arts organization offering therapeutic and educational opportunities with offices on the second and third floors.
In total, the Ohio Development Services Agency awarded $28,370,452 through the program to rehabilitate 22 historic buildings in 11 communities across the state. Developers do not receive the tax credit until project construction is complete and all program requirements are verified.
Applications are received bi-annually in March and September for the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit. For more information about the program, click here.
