Senate Passes Roegner Bill Expanding Employment Opportunities for Nurses
COLUMBUS-State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) announced today that the Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 341 which would enable Ohio to join the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), an agreement currently between 34 member states that allows Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to work in multiple states.

Roegner Announces Bill Protecting Ohioans' Voting Rights and Religious Freedoms Signed Into Law
COLUMBUS-State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) announced the Governor has signed House Bill 272 into law. The bill protects in-person voting and prevents any public official from canceling or postponing an election. The bill also prohibits any state official from issuing any statewide or regional orders closing places of worship. Both provisions were added by the Senate during its consideration of the bill.

Senators Roegner, Schaffer Introduce Bill to Modernize Local Boards of Health
COLUMBUS-State Senators Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) and Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) today announced legislation that will significantly update local boards of health. Senate Bill 348 will allow local boards of health to reject certain orders from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) or the Ohio Director of Health during periods of emergency including pandemics, epidemics, and bio-terrorism events. If the local board of health chooses to reject the state order, they must do so with at least a two-thirds majority vote, after consulting with ODH.

COLUMBUS-The Senate passed Senate Concurrent Resolution 8, sponsored by Senators Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) and Bob Peterson (R-Washington Court House), urging Congress to enact the "Sunshine Protection Act of 2019," federal legislation that would permanently extend Daylight Saving Time across the country.
