A graduate of The Ohio State University and University of Toledo College of Law, Senator McColley and his family live in Napoleon.

Prior to joining the legislature, Senator McColley led economic and workforce development efforts for Henry and Williams counties.

We appreciate the governor's support of our significant income tax reform that reduces the tax burden on Ohioans by moving to a single flat income tax bracket. Yet it is puzzling that at a time when Ohioans are demanding a reduction in their property tax burden, the governor vetoed all of the General Assembly's reforms, which would have contained the rate of growth of property tax across the state, added more accountability to local taxing subdivisions, and would have created more ballot transparency to levies.

COLUMBUS- The Ohio Senate approved the state's new Biennial Operating Budget maintaining the Upper Chamber's commitment of fiscal responsibility to the taxpayers. "Our constitutionally balanced budget represents an historic investment in the people of Ohio," said Senate President Rob McColley. "Taxes are kitchen table issues for every family, and I'm pleased we completed the mission of substantial property tax and income tax relief."

COLUMBUS-The Ohio Senate introduced a bold budget plan that reduces the state income tax to a single flat tax rate, reforms Ohio's burdensome property tax system, maintains a significant investment in funding education by rewarding performance, and implements a visionary strategy for economic development, including professional sports.

President Rob McColley (R-Napoleon) recognized the unprecedented accomplishments of the 2024 National Championship Ohio State football team with a presentation in the Ohio Senate today. They were the first team to win a championship in a 12-team playoff format, and did it with a dominance never seen before in college football. The Buckeyes defeated six of the top eight teams in the country, including four in the playoffs: Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame.
